There are loads of situations where we would not alternate pick and it makes sense to have practiced a decent amount of multiple strokes in the same direction.

These situations might be for dynamic or sonic reasons, or simply because the line demands it, as demoed in the video.

Practice this on a muted string then I would suggest doing it on 3 note per string scales.
