Using E and A for D,G and B

Here I am going to show you three octave patterns to help us use our knowledge of the E and A String to work out notes for the D, G, and B string.

To work out a fret on the D string – Go back 2 frets and Down 2 strings and you will have the same note on the E string, one octave lower. F in the Diagram.

To work out a fret on the G string – Go back 2 frets and Down 2 strings and you will have the same note on the A string, one octave Lower. D in the Diagram.

To work out a fret on the B string – Go up 2 frets and Down 3 strings and you will have the same note on the A string, one octave Lower. A in the Diagram.
